MONOGRAM
LAYOUT :
Classic three
letter monogram layout for an individual is with the last name initial larger
and in the center of the monogram (first name - last name - middle name) so
for Robert Lee Burk it would be "RBL".
Classic three
letter monogram layout for a couple's monogram is with the couple's last name
initial in the center and each person's first name initial smaller on each side.
So for Bill and Jane Doe it would be "BDJ"
Two letter
monogram layout traditionally has two letters of equal size in any order you
would like.
Three letter
monograms with three equal height letters are normally laid out with the actual
order of the name, so for Robert Lee Burk it would be "RLB"
but may also be used with the last name in the center.
Note:
We will sew it in whatever order you provide so please make sure you have entered
the letters in the order you wish to have them sewn.
NAME
& DATE FORMAT:
Names and dates within our
embroidered designs are sized and formatted for best fit and balance. Names
come in a wide variety of sizes and letter count; therefore a type size that
is suitable for the name "Bob Lyon" is not suitable for "Christopher
Lee MacCanaghey".
Letter size will usually
be enlarged for a shorter name and made smaller for a shorter name.
Different designs will allow
for a different number of letters in the name area. This is because each design
is different and the available space for the name or date may be limited within
a particular design. If the name space available will not accommodate your particular
name try a variation or contact customer service at 1-877-262-9703
.
Example:
- Full Name: "Rebeca
Lyndsey Martienas"
- Consider using: "Rebeca
Lyndsey", "Rebeca Martienas", "R. Martienas", "Rebeca
L." or "Rebeca".
Generally speaking, shorter
names provide a better overall look and balance. So consider using a shorter
"first name, last name" combination over a long "first name,
middle name, last name" even when the available space will accept the long
version.
Some embroidered designs
are intended for two names only. These designs will have separate name entry boxes
for first name and last name. These areas may be used for either first &
last names or first & middle names. The best results with two name designs
are achieved when each name is similar in length. Generally speaking, a name
like "Robert Michael" will balance better than the name "Jo Christiensen".
Date formats vary with design
characteristics. Some designs are best suited for a month that is completely
spelled out while other times space requirements better suit an abbreviation
or even a completely numerical date. In some cases we will use a full spelling
for a small word like "May" but abbreviate for a word such as "September".
Our layout artists will always provide the best possible size and placement.
